The different types of risk-taking

There are 3 main types of risk-taking: Financial risks, social risks, and physical risks.

Financial risks: Financial risk refers to the possibility of losing money on an investment or business opportunity.

Social risks: The term "social risk" refers to the possible negative impact of social elements or interactions on individuals, organizations, or communities. Illegal activities are one example of a social risk.

Physical risks: Physical risks are possible dangers or hazards that can damage the physical well-being or safety of people, property, or the environment, one example is Transportation accidents including car accidents, which can result in injuries to individuals.

You don’t necessarily have to start big with risk-taking it can start with something simple like wearing something in your closet you never wear and you don’t have to wear it in front of other people.

Here are some tips to help with risk-taking:

  • Stop underestimating yourself. one of the many reasons why people underestimate themselves is because they think can’t handle pressure.

  • Have a positive mindset. Look on the bright side, Don't assume there isn't a positive side; there is, you're just not thinking about it.

  • Be as realistic as possible about what could go wrong. it's important to keep the consequences in perspective. Many people tend to exaggerate what could go wrong.

  • Stop caring about what people think of you. Remember what’s important to you.

  • Remember that you can always back out. You can change your mind once you've decided to take a risk.

  • Weigh the benefits and risks. Make a pros and cons list.

  • Talk about what you want. Communication is key.
